Ischemic enteritis is caused by embolism or thrombosis of superior mesenteric artery and nonocclusive ischemia. Esophageal stenosis due to tracheobronchial remnants is a rare cause of congenital esophageal stenosis. The cause is thought to be esophageal sequestration of tracheobronchial remnants during embryonic separation.
